Going crazy with the drawing tablet

I picked up a Digipro drawing tablet so I could doodle on my computer instead of just scanning stuff I've put on paper. But some of my scanned paper doodles might show up here anyway, since I can't bring my drawing tablet to work...

I've been looking for a great deal on a Wacom drawing tablet for my computer for a few years, but the one I wanted (8x6) has been just a bit out of my price range. However, woot.com had a good deal on an off-brand drawing tablet -- the Digipro T-8000U.

I'm no great artist... but I love to doodle, and using the mouse to doodle my ideas on the computer just doesn't cut it. This tablet, combined with Gimp makes it a very fun tool to have.

Here are a couple of doodles I threw together:

Goofy looking dinosaur

Doing the robot

Tree growing on a space rock

The nice thing about the tablet is that the drawing software (Gimp, Photoshop, etc.) is able to detect the pressure being used on the pen, and applies the pressure feature in the program to make the digital drawings just like real drawings -- good for shading and stuff.

Anyhow, it's a fun toy. I like it a lot.

I think I've finally settled on a goal of 150hp for my 510. That should do it.
