DEAD FISH

Somehow, in the middle of the night, two of my daughter's three goldfish died. I'm not exactly sure how it happened. And come to think of it, after setting them on the counter this morning, I don't recall if I threw them away or not. It's quite possible that they're still sitting there... on the counter.
At 19 cents a pop, I guess one can't complain too much about the life expectancy of a goldfish. But to have two of them die overnight seems a little strange. I think they had enough food - I fed them pretty regularly. And I think they had enough oxygen, since the bubble blower seemed to work just fine. Besides - goldfish can suck oxygen straight out of the air, so that shouldn't have been an issue. Weird. I dunno what happened. But I think I should pick up some more goldfish.
