It turns out that the current pope has made a statement to the world on the "official" church's position -- he states that the book contains "subtle seductions, which act unnoticed and by this deeply distort Christianity in the soul, before it can grow properly."

Right. Which means that folks can blame their moral decline on a children's book, instead of on their own state of wickedness. Nevermind personal responsibility, eh?
