I suspect the most important part of being loved is believing you are loved.
This is a deeply theological statement. And I think it explains the relationship between God’s grace and our faith.

Poetry of Scripture
The poetry of scripture is delicious.
Consider “the God who sees you,” and how that title means one thing to the weeping, the wounded, the broken, the invisible… and something wholly different to those who scheme in darkness to prey on the weak.
The Presence
If the presence of God is found among the weak, perhaps “walking away from God” does not mean “living in sin,” but rather it is the pursuit of power.
God is not in the thunder, the earthquake, or the violent wind. God is in the still, small voice.
The Point of it All
If you treat the scriptures as a reference book that tells you what to do and what not to do, you’ll miss the part of the story where God tells you that this was never the point.
Weight of the Cross
The cross is so heavy to bear. We can’t carry it while wielding a sword. We can’t even hold it while wearing a crown.
Forgiveness
Those who have been forgiven have tasted life.
Those who forgive have tasted eternity.
The Gospel is Freedom
The Gospel is not meant to make enemies of non-believers.
It is meant to set us all free from tyranny and slavery.
The God of your Story
When I talk about a God who has dominion over the past, present, and future, and loves us and has the power to heal our whole story, this is what I mean:
Everything that happened in your past doesn’t exist as fact anymore. It only exists as story. As a parable.
Friend, you are the narrator of the story of your life. You’re doing the retelling.
You can tell the story about someone who suffered, or about someone who learned and grew and was healed.
Prodigal
Dear Prodigal Son,
I hope one day you discover that “repent” doesn’t mean “say sorry or I won’t forgive you.”
Repenting is about restoring what was, and bringing about that which was always meant to be.
It means to come home.
Repent and trust that God is good.
Light and Life
Salvation is a movement from death to life.
It’s not an image of having life, and then fearing that you’ll lose it if you mess up.
“Let there be Light” gives us the clearest picture: it was dark, and then God created Light for you to see what He was going to do next.
