Genesis 1:26 says we are made in God’s image to… rule over fish, birds, and the three types of animals (livestock, wild ones, and crawling ones).

Authority to rule the animals, but not to rule or have dominion over other humans.

Ruling over one another is not the image.

Be Fruitful and Multiply

Some Christians get really weird about “be fruitful and multiply” as though it’s a great sin to be childless. But the text says that God BLESSED THEM and THEN told them to be fruitful (Genesis 1:28). As in, being fruitful is the blessing.

Anyhow, God told the fish the same thing (Genesis 1:22).
