The Faith of Abram

Posted on January 25, 2025 by jovial_cynic
Genesis 12:5 tells us in Hebrew that Abram brought “living beings that he made” from Canaan to the Promised Land.

From death to life. From darkness to light. From hell to heaven.

No sinners’ prayer.
No commandments.

Only faith in a God who makes Promises and keeps them.

Breath Mint

Genesis 12 is linked to Genesis 1, teaching us that “making converts” is an act of creation. It’s breathing new life into those who are dead.

But I suspect that much of religion is not the breath of life, but the stench of death.

Perhaps our breath stinks.
